New Zealand eventers have been busy overnight, with competitions in the UK, Germany and Canada.

James Avery and Mr Sneezy remain the best of the Kiwis at the end of the dressage in the Equi-trek CCI4*-L at the Bramham International Horse Trials in the UK, sitting on 30.9 penalty points in ninth place.

Lucy Jackson and Superstition II scored 33 to finish the day in 18th with Andrew Nicholson and Andrea BT4 right on her heels in 19th equal with 33.5. Andrew is also in 26th aboard As Is with Caroline Powell and Sergeant Crisp in 27th equal on 34.7.

Pippa Funnell (GBR) and Billy Walk On lead the 62 combinations on 26.6 penalty points but her country women Kitty King aboard Vendredi Biats and Gemma tattersall on Jalapeno III are right there on 26.8 and 26.9 respectively.

In the Land Rover CCI4*-S, Caroline Powell and On the Brash are in 33rd on 32.1 penalty points with Nick Brooks and For Fame not far behind her on 33.1. Gemma Tattersall (GBR) and Quicklook V lead the 86-strong field on 21.6.

Meanwhile, at the second leg of the Event Rider Masters Series in Wiesbaden, Germany, Tim and Jonelle Price are sitting in ninth and 13th respectively with just the cross country to go.

Tim and Wesko scored 25.3 penalty points in the dressage for fifth place but added four faults in the showjumping to slip to ninth. Jonelle and Grovine de Reve in their first international together scored 33.9 penalty points in the dressage and also added four to finish the day on 39.1.

Ingrid Klimke (GER) and SAP Hale Bob OLD set a new ERM dressage record with an eye-watering 16.4 penalty point effort, surging past the previous best of 20.5 set by Tom Carlile and Upsilon at Barbary Castle in 2017. However, three rails in the showjumping saw her slip to sixth on a score of 28.4. Julia Krajewski (GER) and Samourai du Thot hold pole position at the end of the first day of competition, remaining on their dressage score of 21.
Just six of the 15-strong field were clear and inside time in the showjumping. Tonight, combinations will be challenged by a twisting cross country track designed by Rudiger Schwarz.

And across the Atlantic at the Bromont CCI Three Day Event, Joe Meyer and the nine-year-old Buccaneer in their first outing together in the CCI4*-L sit on 41.3 in the 24-strong field which is led by Bruce Davidson Jnr (USA) and Carlevo on 27.9.
