Tim and Jonelle Price are third and sixth respectively at the end of the dressage and showjumping in the Event Rider Masters CCI4*-S at the Concours Complet d’Arville in Belgium. Jonelle is at the front of the pack on her second mount in the CCI2*-S for six year olds.

In the ERM, Tim and Wesko sit on 30.5 penalty points with Jonelle aboard her 2018 Luhmuhlen winner Faerie Dianimo on 32.3. Gemma Tattersall (GBR), the 2017 ERM Series champ, and Quicklook V lead the 18-strong field. Just three combinations scored sub-30 in the dressage and seven coming home clear and inside time in the showjumping. Seven remain on their dressage scores and there was one withdrawal before the showjumping.

Tim was in fourth place at the end of the dressage but added nothing to his score to move up to third. “He’s a great jumper and I always look forward to that side of things with him,” said Tim of Wesko. The combo had two costly mistakes in their dressage. “They were the same two mistakes I made at Wiesbaden. Nine times out of 10 he comes really good in that phase but I was really pleased with him today . . . he jumped his socks off.”

Jonelle was in seventh after her dressage and added 0.4 time penalties in the showjumping but moved up a slot to sixth.

She is also leading the CCI2*-S for six year olds aboard Faerie Magnifico on 29.4 penalty points after the dressage and cross country tests. Filippo Gregoroni (ITL) and Unnamed are in second on 33. There were three eliminations and a retirement during the cross country, leaving 24 in the field for tomorrow’s showjumping.

Tomorrow’s Rüdiger Schwarz-designed cross country promises to be challenging – it is always one of the toughest in the ERM Series and since the inception of the CI4*-S class at Arville in 2012, only 100 riders have jumped clear and just five of those have made time.
