Clarke Johnstone and his Brit import Watermilll Glenneagle have backed up their one day crown with victory in the Fiber Fresh CCI2*-L Championship in Taupo this afternoon.

The Rio Olympian and his eight-year-old warmblood led from the start and finished on their dressage score of 26.3 penalty points, just .3 ahead of fellow Olympian Jock Paget (Taupo) aboard Bing Bong on 26.6, 2018 Three Day Champ Amanda Pottinger (Havelock North) aboard Good Timing third on 29.2, and Lizzie Green (Hamilton) on Comanche II fourth on 29.2. The top three finished on their dressage scores.

“I am thrilled to win the three day title after taking the one day at Kihikihi with Watermill Glenneagle,” said Clarke who has had the horse for a year. “I think he is a stunning horse for the future and thank his owners Keith and Amanda Walker for letting me ride him.”

He felt the top four were all quality horses and he’s looking forward to seeing them progress through the ranks.

His own horse has been jumping 1.5m pure showjumping tracks this season. “He is a lovely horse with big potential,” he said.

Forty-seven combinations started the class with 36 completing the three days.
