NRM are long-standing supporters of all things equestrian and have been involved with the New Zealand Three Day Event Championships for many years.

This time they are backing the NRM CCI3*-L class. Sarah Hill, NRM assistant product manager, says the event is the perfect time for their team to chat to clients and meet new riders and customers. The NRM equine nutrition specialist team will be at the NEC throughout the champs and will also have their very popular weigh station on site.

“This is an iconic event on the equine eventing calendar and we are always excited to be there,” says Sarah. “It’s good for us to get amongst our customers and talk nutrition, weigh horses and offer advice and support face to face. Each horse has a unique nutritional need and to understand the perfect diet for each horse there needs to be scientific understanding about its needs. That is why our partnership with Kentucky Equine Research is so important. The NZ3DE gives us a chance to help tailor diets specific to the individual.”

NRM dates back to 1875 with the company becoming the Northern Roller Milling Company in 1899. In those early days NRM manufactured flour from wheat and it wasn’t until 1944 that the first dedicated production of stock feed took place. In 1954 NRM installed its first press machine to make pelleted stock feed and in 1992 moved away from the flour milling business to become solely focused on stock feed and a premix manufacturer.

“The past 120 years has seen an enormous amount of change in rural markets,” says Sarah. “NRM’s ability to adapt to these changes can be attributed to its history of manufacturing expertise, innovative quality products and most of all, its relationship with its customers.”
