The recent Board meeting of Dressage NZ agreed that although it is Dressage NZ policy to follow FEI rules regarding permitted Saddlery, that given some of the changes made by the FEI at the beginning of 2019, it is not appropriate to enforce these mid-season for national classes and that there will be discussion on a number of these changes at the Planning Forum. So riders please note:

  1. All classes run under FEI rules at the national championships, Horse of the Year Show and Dressage World Challenge will be run under rules for CDI 3*,2*, CDIY, CDIP and WDC. Of particular note is the minimum 14mm diameter for Snaffles (measured next to the rings of the bit)  for FEI classes where snaffles are permitted.
Please refer to mark up version of the FEI rules for all changes applicable
  2. All classes run under national rules will be run under Dressage NZ 2018 rules for permitted saddlery until further notice
