Feeling a little post-WEG blues? So are we, so here are a few more fab Libby Law photos to re-live the excitement, emotion and style of the best of our equestrian sport.

It’s hard to believe it was all over in a flash – the New Zealand team surviving the roller coaster and really doing us all proud in how they wore the silver fern.

WEG – as we all know – wasn’t without its challenges, but the Kiwi crew got on and did their best in sometimes trying situations.

Hurricane Florence didn’t amount to much more for us than a solid winter southerly in Wellington but organisers opted to be safe rather than sorry.

The Tryon International Equestrian Centre wasn’t even nearly finished and much of the place was a full-on construction zone for the Games but what a venue it will be in the future. The volunteers across the board were amazing and couldn’t have been more helpful.

There’s something quite unique about sitting in a stand surrounded by other nationalities and riding the wave with them as their riders go clear, have close calls or secure a medal. The buzz of languages and the differences in cultures is such a treat.

And the celebration and camaraderie between riders and support teams is always amazing to watch. For many, a Games is a chance to catch up with other internationals who you generally see in two-year cycles – it is a special thing to be part of.

Here’s to some more solid results on the world stage in months to come.
