Showjumper Samantha McIntosh and her star stallion Check In 2 are back in form at top-level competition, competing successfully at the weekend in the CSI4* in La Coruna, Spain.

The Kiwi combo placed sixth in the 1.50m class and were one of 12 to come back for the jump-off where Guillaume Foutrier (FRA) and Tchin de la Tour took the win with their double clear in 47.72 seconds. Samantha and Check In 2 were also double clear, coming home in 51.86 seconds.

Samantha was second aboard Estina in the 1.45m against the clock, stopping the dial at 66.39 seconds. Winner Hugo Tavares (POR) and Phebus du Fief were just that smidgen faster, with 66.13 seconds in the 35-strong class.

Bruce Goodin and Pop Non Stop placed 11th at the CSI4* Samorin in Slovakia in the CSI2* 1.35m-1.40m competition. The class was won by Chloe Winchester (GBR) aboard Sheyenne 27. Twenty-six started the table A class, with just six completing with zero penalties.
