Andrew Nicholson is the only Kiwi in the top 10 of the CCI3* at the end of the first day of dressage at the Bramham International Horse Trials.

Riding Yacabo BK, Nicholson sits on 29.4 penalty points, in ninth position.  “He’s just a young one and it’s his first time at this level,” said Nicholson. “I’m pleased with him.”

Still to come for New Zealand are Dan Jocelyn aboard Blackthorn Cruise and Nicholson on Swallow Springs, who he is expecting a good showing from. Julia Krajewski (GER) and Chipmunk FRH lead the pack on 19.4, with 33 of the 67-strong field having completed their dressage.

In the CIC3*, James Avery and Optimus Prime will do their dressage overnight. Rosalind Canter (GBR) and No Excuse lead the class on 24.4, with 39 of 78 combinations having completed their dressage.
