ESNZ eventing squad riders were on fire at the recent NRM National Three Day Event Championships.

Future Potential Recognition Squad member Amanda Pottinger (Havelock North) and Just Kidding took out the NRM CCI3* Open National Championship, with fellow squadie Samantha Felton (Matangi) and Ricker Ridge Sooty GNZ winning the Bates CCI2* and placing second in the Fiber Fresh CCI1* on Ricker Ridge Riley. Felton was also sixth in the NRM CCI3* on Ricker Ridge Rui.

Other Future Potential Recognition riders to do well were Bundy Philpott (Cambridge) and Tresca NZPH who were fourth in the NRM CCI3* and Lizzie Green (Matangi) who was fifth aboard Comanche II and seventh on Marble Point in the Wairakei Resort CCN105 Championship. Philpott was also third in the Fiber Fresh CCI1* aboard Shillings.

Defending CCI3* champ Emily Cammock (Christchurch) withdrew Shaw Lee after the dressage, saying she felt the horse just wasn’t 100%, however she placed fourth in the Wairakei Resort CCN105 Championship aboard Antara.

Talent Development Squad rider Abby Lawrence (Te Puke) and Anonymous were ninth in the Bates CCI2* Championship while ESNZ high performance director Sarah Dalziell-Clout (Masterton) took out the Equissage Young Event Horse National Championship aboard In the Moment.
