Despite only being 26 years old, Lizzie is a long standing member of the New Zealand High Performance Eventing squad, having previously represented New Zealand at Young Rider level, in the words of the New Zealand media, “a young rider going places!”.
Lizzie is originally from Hamilton, New Zealand and was the leading New Zealand Event Rider in 2009/10 and the Superleague Series winner in that same year. She is a multiple CIC/CCI 3* winner in New Zealand and Australia and a former New Zealand Young Rider National Champion (2009).
Not content with just being a great rider Lizzie recognised that to be a successful event rider she also needed to develop a keen eye for business. Consequently she managed to combine studying full-time (2008-2010) with her riding commitments and now holds a Bachelor of Business Management degree from Waikato University.
Lizzie recognised that in order to pursue a full-time career in eventing she would need regular exposure to what it takes it to compete and win at the highest level, so in April 2011 she decided to follow many of her Kiwi team mates by relocating herself and her horses to the UK.
Lizzie is now based at Wickdown Stables near Marlborough, Wiltshire and always has space to take new horses in for sales, competition or schooling livery.
Lizzie has her sights firmly fixed on the Olympics in Rio in 2016 and World Equestrian Games in Bromont in 2018.
