Our new fees will be coming into effect from 1 August, which is just over a week away.  Registration details, FAQ, current rates and categories are explained on our membership page:  https://www.nzequestrian.org.nz/esnz/membershipregistration/

We also have a selection of videos to help you to connect and use the Horse Reg database: https://www.nzequestrian.org.nz/esnz-database/  If you’d like to transfer a horse you  have recently bought, we have put together this guide on how to enter the details into Horse Reg:  CHANGE OF OWNERSHIPS STEP BY STEP

And also please note that our bank account has officially closed, therefore fees should now be paid by credit/debit card through your account on horsereg.com. The benefit of paying this way is that registrations and memberships are updated as soon as the transaction is complete, whereas previously paying through the bank account meant that memberships were not updated on the ESNZ system until the payment from the bank account was manually matched with the correct member number.

If you have any difficulties with processing your payment, we are also happy to take your payment over the phone on +64 (4) 499 8994.

So, why is there an increase?

It is no secret that the country is now officially in a recession, with Stats NZ figures showing our GDP falling 0.1 per cent in three months end of March for a second quarter. Most parts of the economy have slowed or contracted, with services, exports, and agriculture offsetting a slight rise in construction (RNZ, 15/6/23).

To sustain our organisation in these challenging times, the Board has approved a 2.5 per cent increase in the ESNZ membership fee for horse and human. This will come into effect from 1 August, 2023. We are mindful this increase comes at a challenging time, but have worked hard to keep it at this level as we see larger increases in cost coming at us from our service providers.

The Jumping Discipline will also be increasing its Annual Discipline Fees by a small amount, making the Horse Annual Start $105, and the Pony Annual Start $72. This represents an increase of $3 and $2 respectively.  Dressage, Eventing and Endurance Disciplines will not have fee increases this year.

However, the news isn’t all bad. While we are unable to avoid the fee increase, we can temper its impact with two new partnerships that have recently been announced. These won’t affect your fees, but we hope they will make it easier for you to get out and about and enjoy the pleasure of equestrian at a time when many of us are reaching for solace.

Accordingly, Equestrian Sport New Zealand has established a new partnership with Carters Tyres that is focused on providing benefits straight back to you. We know that keeping your vehicles on the road to travel to events has some costs that we would like to help reduce. Our new relationship with Carters Tyres will give you a 25% discount on all car tyres including 4x4s, and 5% off all truck tyres.

A document is attached giving you an overview of the offer and some information about Carters.  You will need your Membership Number in order to get the discount:
